Located in the South Downs, on the outskirts of Liphook, is the Hollycombe Steam in the Country. Formerly known as the Hollycombe Steam Collection, the site boasts a vast collection of working steam powered machines, such as fairground rides, traction engines, and railway locomotives!
The Bank Holiday Weekend of the 24th - 26th August saw the attraction host their biggest fairground event of the year, in the shape of the 'Fairground Extravaganza'. This would include visiting rides and attractions.
Two of the site's operational railways were in use, with the two foot narrow gauge 'Quarry Railway' and the 7 and 1/4 inch miniature 'Garden Railway' providing plenty of rides for visitors. The location is also home to a standard gauge railway, however this has been out of use for several years.
Hauling services on the 'Quarry Railway' was Hunslet 0-4-0ST No. 38 'Jerry M', whilst trips on the 'Garden Railway' were being hauled by Tinkerbell locomotive 'Bob'. This video showcases both railways in operation.
